Your 9-Night Safari Itinerary

Transit Point via Maun or Kasane Airport
Take a bush flight from either Maun Airport or Kasane Airport to the Moremi Airstrip. If you are already in the bush at another camp, you will take a bush fight from your camp to the Moremi Airstrip.
Brave Africa Pickup and Game Drive to Moremi Camp
You will be met at the Moremi Airstrip by your Brave Africa guide. You will receive a quick orientation and hop in the game drive vehicle with your luggage to head to our Moremi Camp. Depending on when you arrive, you may have a quick snack or lunch. Otherwise, you will take the long route to camp on an afternoon game drive, arriving just in time for dinner.

Moremi Camp

—Accommodation & Area Details

You will spend your first three nights at our Moremi Camp within the Moremi Game Reserve. On the banks of the Khwai River and the Xakanaxa Lagoon, it is one of the most beautiful areas in the Okavango Delta, with riverine forests, seasonal floodplains, and serpentine channels. Moremi has it all!

During this first stop on your 10-day and 9-night safari journey, you’ll enjoy spectacular wildlife and birding on every game drive. Discover herds of elephants and buffalo drinking at watering holes or eating in open savannas. Experience the thrill of spying on African wild dogs, lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and more. Moremi is a game-rich area with a diverse habitat that you’ll fall in love with.

Your first time in camp, you will be assigned your authentic and luxurious tent, which will be yours for the rest of your stay with us. Embrace the magic of a mobile-tented safari camp, which draws the outdoors inside. Step out of your en-suite into an outdoor shower under the African sky, or head along the path to the main pavilion area for dining and relaxation. Take advantage of our fire pit for early breakfasts at sunrise and starry evenings full of storytelling. Or simply hang out on your tent’s deck and look for the wildlife that frequents the nearby river and trees.

— 3 Nights • Tented Room x 1

INSIDER’S TIP: Request a one-of-a-kind boating safari to explore the bush and see wildlife as you never have before (if water levels allow). Elephants are often the star attraction, so make sure you have your camera ready!

Spend 3 Nights at Moremi Camp

Every day on safari is unique and wonderful. A Brave Africa team member will wake you up just before dawn to get your day started. As the sun rises, you’ll enjoy fresh warm water on your tent deck to help you perform your morning ablutions. Once you’re ready for the day, you’ll join the rest of your party in our main pavilion for a delicious breakfast with sunrise. As the sky transforms into brilliant shades of pink, orange, yellow, and blue, you’ll fill your stomach and get the run down on the day ahead.

Once everyone is set, and as the sun is barely peaking over the horizon, you’ll hop into your game drive vehicle with your guide and embark on a journey to discover incredible wildlife. Your experienced guide will follow tracks left overnight, listen to the sounds of the bush, communicate with other guides, and find you remarkable encounters with as many inhabitants of the bush as possible.

Whenever you are ready for a break, your guide will find a captivating backdrop to enjoy coffee, tea, and snacks mid-morning. At lunch, you will either return to camp to rest and relax, or you will remain on your game drive all day and enjoy a pre-packed lunch in the bush (this will be determined with your guide the night before). After lunch, and a brief respite, you’ll head back out on safari to encounter more wildlife before the sun sets.

Then, as the sun sinks behind the horizon and colors the sky in brilliant shades once again, you’ll stop for drinks and snacks before heading back to camp for the evening. Dinner will be served within the pavilion or out under the stars and near the fire pit. You’ll enjoy great food, delightful stories, and delicious drinks before heading to bed to the soothing sounds of the Botswana bush.

Transfer Day to Khwai Camp
Today, you will start the day early with breakfast at sunrise. You will leave all of your bags and clothes inside your tent (loosely packed) so that the Brave Africa team can break down your tent while you are enjoying your safari day. After breakfast, your guide will take you on an all-day game drive toward the next camp location. In the middle of the day, instead of returning to camp, enjoy a pre-prepared packed lunch and then continue on your safari. At dinner time, you will arrive back at camp and your tent, except you are now at our Khwai Camp for the next three nights!

Khwai Camp

—Accommodation & Area Details

You will spend the next three nights at our Khwai Camp on the edges of the Okavango Delta. Here, we set up our camp directly on the banks of the Khwai River, so you get to fall asleep to the sounds of hippos lowing and wake up to elephants or antelope drinking from its shores. This is one of our favorite campsite locations due to its enchantingly remote and intimate setup. Most days, a herd of elephants will visit camp and join you for one of your meals.

During this second stop on your 10-day and 9-night safari journey, embark on phenomenal game drives, night drives, and walking safaris. You can even try a traditional mokoro safari and allow an expert guide to glide you through the serene waters of the Khwai River. Every safari activity is available at our Khwai camp. Experience impressive wildlife encounters with elephants, hippos, lions, leopards, wild dogs, and so much more.  Kwahi is a captivating backdrop for observing the bush in all its glory.

As for your stay, your luxurious tent will remain the same as in Moremi. Our mobile-tented safari camp travels with us. Your walking path from your tent to the main pavilion will be different. The view from your deck and around the fire pit will be brand new. But you’ll still be delighted with our warm team members, who will all know you by name by now and will make you feel a part of the Brave Family. Take pleasure in the same comfort and serenity you had come to enjoy in Moremi.

— 3 Nights • Tented Room x 1

INSIDER’S TIP: Request a mokoro safari to marvel at the vibrant plants, birds, and wildlife that flourish in the shallows of the Khwai River. And if you feel particularly adventurous, ask your guide about a walking safari for an up close and personal look at the bush with your own two feet!

Savuti (Savute) Camp

—Accommodation & Area Details

Spend your final three nights with Brave Africa Safaris at our Savuti (Savute) Camp on the edges of Chobe National Park. This premier safari destination boasts one of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife. Discover splendid scenery, untouched lands, and a high density of predatory species. In particular, there is an incredibly healthy population of lions (two prides with over thirty lions at last count). You’ll also witness massive herds of elephants at the local watering holes, healthy populations of wild dogs and hyenas, and a thriving bird life.

During this last stop on your 10-day and 9-night safari journey, enjoy the timeless luxury of unforgettable wildlife and breathtaking views. Nature enthusiasts will revel in the rich diversity of landscapes and wildlife that flourishes in Savuti. Spend your days basking in iconic sightings of incredible birds and animals in this world-renowned destination. Every day here will offer a plethora of adventures and photographic opportunities.

Once again, your camp experience will remain the same. Our mobile-tented safari camp will have traveled with you from Moremi through Khwai and into Savuti. Enjoy new magnificent views of nature outside your tent, and along each walking path without sacrificing the comfort and authenticity you have come to enjoy. The sounds that you fall asleep to each night might change, but the entrenched solitude and charming service will remain. Continue your delight with being a member of the Brave Family even in the serenity of Savuti.

— 3 Nights • Tented Room x 1

INSIDER’S TIP: Request a trip to the watering hole and tree where Brave Africa Safaris was born (this is our favorite location in the bush because it is where we got our start). And do not forget to head off the beaten path to discover ancient Baobab trees and Savuti’s one-of-a-kind cave paintings drawn by Africa’s first ancestors.

Today, you will start the day with a hot breakfast at sunrise. The previous night, while enjoying dinner and stories around the fire pit, you would have received your bush flight details for transferring the next day. So this morning, you will gather all of your bags and say goodbye to the Brave Africa Team. After breakfast, your guide will take you on your final game drive on the way to the Savuti Airstrip. When your flight time arrives, we will see you off onto the next steps in your journey, wishing you well and ready to welcome you back again soon!
