Moremi Game Reserve

A PRISTINE SAFARI PARADISE

The Oldest Protected Section of the Okavango Delta

In 1963, Moremi Game Reserve became the oldest and first protected game reserve within the Okavango Delta (named after Batawana Chief Moremi III and his wife). Few other places in Africa have so many ecosystems seamlessly coexist and in such seclusion. From mopane woodland to floodplains, sparkling lagoons, winding rivers, and acacia forests, Moremi has it all and more. Striking predators roam the diverse landscapes in between massive herds of elephants, buffalo, zebra, and antelope. It is a genuine wilderness where nature’s timeless majesty unfolds before your eyes.

It is widely regarded as the most beautiful area in the Okavango Delta and covers the eastern one-third of the delta within its borders. And it is currently the best place on the planet to find African Wild Dogs. Embrace the magic of riverine forests, seasonal floodplains, and serpentine channels.

Moremi Game Reserve consists of permanent and seasonal swamp areas intermixed with dry land. You’ll find Mopane forests, floodplains, and deep pools.
